We are so grateful for the past week we spent with the Grade 7 & 8 students, student leaders and faculty of Hillfield Strathallan College. Our days were filled with swimming and playing on the water elements, archery tag, rock climbing and canoeing. The Grade 7 & 8 Students also participated in a workshop called Foundations of Community and spent time discussing what it looks like to create a strong and grounded community both inside and outside of school. Royal St. George’s College Grade 7 – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
Thank you to the Royal St. George’s College Grade 7 Students, Student Leaders and Faculty for an incredible week. From games of ball hockey, to supporting one another on the high ropes elements, to the connections made around the campfire; these students really made the most of their time together. This week, the students also participated in a workshop focusing on the importance of being both a leader and a follower and the strengths in both of those roles. St. Andrew’s College McEwen Leadership Program – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
Over the past two days, the students of the St. Andrew’s College McEwen Leadership Program truly showed what it meant to make the most out of the time we have together. They spent their days focusing on their personal leadership skills, communication, collaboration as well as the practice of reflection and mindfulness. Crestwood Preparatory College Grade 7 & 9 – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
After a week of developing community and deepening connections as a school, we want to express our gratitude for the time spent with Crestwood Preparatory College’s Grade 7 and 9 students. Some of the highlights were rock climbing, archery, drumming and workshops. In their workshop, the grade 7 students discussed the qualities they search for in their friendships and how they can continue to be better friends. The grade 9 students participated in a workshop focusing on addressing the negative thinking traps we fall into as well as how to combat them. Throughout our cooler fall days, these students took every opportunity to strengthen their connections between one another and step outside their comfort zones. Montessori Academy of London Grade 7 & 8 – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
As always, our time with the Jr. High students from Montessori Academy of London was full of meaningful moments. From our time in Algonquin Park on our day-paddle and out-lunch, to frosty early morning polar bear dips, to our evening shout outs, facing fears, and persevering through challenges, there were many lessons learned about independence, friendships and the importance of building a strong foundation.
The Holy Trinity School Grade 5, 7, 11 & 12 – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
We are so happy to have spent the last week with Holy Trinity School’s Grade 5s, 7s, 11s and 12s. Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of activities and workshops run by ALIVE Instructors. The Grade 5s focused on the foundations of community and the individual values we can bring to our school. The Grade 7s participated in a a workshop discussing their authentic path and perspective. And for the Grade 11’s and 12’s to hone in their leadership skills, they spent time focusing on their emotional intelligence and personal strengths. St. Michael’s College School Grade 10 In Camp – ALIVE Outdoors – September 2022
We are very grateful for the days we were able to spend with the Grade 10 Students of St. Michael’s College School up in Algonquin Park last week. Many students acquired new skills such as spoon carving, shelter building and stand up paddle boarding as well as navigational, paddling and hiking skills on their day trip to Mizzy Lake Trail. These students brought endless energy to every activity this week creating strong connections and memories to carry with them throughout the school year.
