Kristin Read
Program Director of Global Experiential Programs
Kristin is a dedicated educator with a strong passion for global learning and character education. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Glasgow and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Strathclyde. For the past twenty years, she has worked in the independent and public education sectors across Scotland, Italy, Germany, and Canada. Kristin’s belief in the transformative power of educational experiences beyond traditional classrooms has influenced her work with students. She strives to nurture empathy, resilience, and cultural awareness through diverse international experiences.
Since relocating to Canada in 2008, Kristin has held various global education roles within the CAIS network. She has led international programs for numerous students in more than 40 countries spanning North, Central and South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Apart from her school-related responsibilities, Kristin has served in leadership positions for the CIS Experiential Educators Network, the Canadian Positive Psychology Association, the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools “Girls and Global Citizens” Headways Program, and the Round Square Reps of North and South America.
As a staunch supporter of character education, Kristin is dedicated to promoting personal growth and character development in each student’s journey to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their connection to others and the world.
